Investigation of Coupling Effects of Wave, Current, and Wind on a Pile Foundation

To investigate the coupling effects of wave–wind, wave–current, and wave–current–wind on a pile foundation marine structure, harbor basin tests loads induced by single combined action wave, current, wind were conducted. The time histories, power spectrums, characteristic values drag forces in test conditions compared. Then, coefficients calculated based to quantitively evaluate effects. influence natural vibration studied comparing between rigid elastic models. results show that shapes spectrums their peak frequencies wave-involved are similar spectrum incident which means steady current uniform cannot change frequency distribution random wave. Although model under not linear superposition corresponding field, among them quite weak as small. It is speculated wave–wind effect may be because, firstly, interaction wave limited zone near water surface, far less than height model; secondly, wave-induced load dominant compared current. for that, model’s away from spectral having little force.
